Sherlyn Chopra who has just turned producer is happy that she is part of an evolution in Bollywood.
Says the firebrand actor, "I'm glad to be a part of the era which has witnessed a huge revolution. Be it politics, cinema, sports, business or any other arena, women across the globe including India are in great form mentally, physically and consciously to undertake greater responsibilities and tougher challenges that are often encountered on paths less travelled."
Sherlyn is also happy that she has gone from being just a pin-up girl to an entrepreneur.
Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly. They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage."
Naming films like " The Dirty Picture", " Erin Brokovich", " No One Killed Jessica"," The Black Swan" as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses. The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it."

Mallika Sherawat beats Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan
Actress Mallika Sherawat has beaten Vidya Balan to the finish line of the 'Sexiest Vegetarian Female' poll conducted by PETA.
The announcement has come as quite a shock as all hopes were pinned on Vidya Balan - especially after her The Dirty Picture act - to win the coveted title. However, representatives of PETA insist that the verdict is solely based on the votes collected.
Vidya Balan is known to have re-defined 'sexy' and 'hot' after her popular 'dirty act'. But we guess people had their reasons to vote for the oomphy Mallika Sherawat.

Dhanush successfully bagged the Sexiest Vegetarian Male award, a tag previously enjoyed by Shahid Kapoor. His Kolaveri Di number took the world by storm. However, the simple Dhanush says, "I'm anything but sexy. But if people think I am, I don't know what to say."

Milan Luthria to direct Salman Khan

SALMAN KHAN
After the success of The Dirty Picture , Milan Luthria is also getting offers to direct ads apart from film projects. One of the ads is with Salman Khan.
Says Milan of the Sallu commercial, It's for a health product. The producer got in touch with me while I was away on holiday. But I was to shoot it on January 11. I couldn't as I had committed to an awards function. It didn't feel fair to withdraw that commitment as they had announced my attendance. It's also my anniversary, so in order not to get thrashed by my wife, I requested Salman and his team to adjust the shoot by a day. He interchanged the dates with another commercial he's shooting, but he had to return to Mumbai from Karjat earlier than scheduled. Guess I owe him one!

His association with the actor dates back, It's a little known fact that Salman was also an assistant to Mahesh Bhatt before becoming an actor. I first saw him on the sets of Mahesh's Jurm starring Vinod Khanna. But I got to know him well when I shot the Bigg Boss 4 campaign last year. Yes, he has seen the film and was vocal in his praise, especially of the performances. We get along well and have kept in touch since last year. We talk about various things including movies, but he is busier than anyone I know!

As sultry as it gets-Vidya in ‘The Dirty Picture

Vidya

New Delhi: Vidya Balan has never exposed as much - but in the first look of "The Dirty Picture", inspired by late southern sex icon Silk Smitha's life, she has painted a perfect picture in an itsy-bitsy red blouse matched with luscious red lipstick.
The actress stands undaunted even as three men - Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi - get too close for comfort in the poster, which was released on social networking sites on Friday.
"The poster and the logo of the film has a very 1980s feel to it because the movie is set in that period. We will be launching the first trailer of 'The Dirty Picture' in Mumbai August 30," Girish Johar, head of acquisition and distribution, Balaji Motion Pictures, informed.
The film is set to release Dec 2, the birth anniversary of Silk Smitha, who became a symbol of sensuality after featuring in bold and semi-nude roles. Later, financial crises and personal problems took a toll on her life.
It is this moving story that has been captured in this latest offering by Ekta Kapoor. In tune with the period that the movie is set in, the Balaji unit has chosen to launch the first trailer at Galaxy, a single screen theatre in Mumbai.

Censor Objects The Dirty Picture

                                                                                               The Dirty

The Censor Board is really making a lot of news these days with more and more movies coming up that have bold and provocative trailers. However, the job of the Censor Board is to make sure that not only the movies but the trailers are good for the audience. They have to make sure that all the no objection certificates are available before they actually go ahead and approve the trailer. Earlier, it was Mausam that came into controversy where the Censor Board decided to hold the trailer as the NOC was not available from Animal Welfare Organization for one particular cow scene.

                                                                                                           Dirty

This time it is The Dirty Picture which is in the news for coming up with the second trailer for the movie. The Dirty Picture already has released the first trailer of their movie which the Censor Board has approved because it was clean for public exhibition. However, the Censor Board has now objections regarding the second trailer which they say is not fit for theaterical exhibition. Hence, they have asked the director Milan Luthria to make some changes to the trailer so that it can be approved.

                                 The Dirty

The Dirty Picture is produced by Ekta Kapoor and stars Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi and Tusshar Kapoor. The movie is based on the life story of Silk Smitha and it is definitely getting a lot of hype in the market and audiences are waiting for the release date of the movie. According to the sources, the director wanted U/A certificate for the trailer so that they can show this trailer in various other new releases like Mausam. However, the Censor Board is not willing to give anything below A certificate for this trailer. The Censor Board demands that the love making scene between Naseeruddin Shah and Vidya Balan to be removed from the trailer.

Never enjoyed being a woman more: Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan
The Dirty Picture

The actress is upbeat about playing a sex-symbol character in 'The Dirty Picture' saying it celebrates womanhood in all its glory.

Vidya Balan's next film ' The Dirty Picture ' has become the talk of the town for her redefined sexy avatar. Playing a character loosely based on yesteryear South sex-symbol Silk Smitha, she has attempted every act of seduction from pelvic thrusts to heaving bosom.

Ask her if she was anytime wary or apprehensive of playing the character and she confidently replies, "I've never enjoyed being a woman more than in The Dirty Picture . It celebrates a woman like a rainbow in all her colours".

Not just the audience, even Vidya was as surprised when the makers came to her to play a character like this. "I don't know how Milan could have thought of me for this film", confesses Vidya. But she has no regrets whatsoever to play such a bold and unusual character. "Before starting this film, I told Milan that I want you to hold my hands and guide me through the film. I just knew that I had to trust Milan completely. And I can say it is so worth it"
